Allotta Farley & Widman has been representing labor and multi-employer benefits funds in Indiana for more than 12 years.  Until 2009, our practice in Indiana was primarily focused in the Northeastern part of the state, with most of our clients being in the Fort Wayne Metropolitan Area.  Since 2009, we have participated in meetings throughout the State of Indiana with various labor groups, and we have presented free seminars to labor representatives on issues including public bidding and the common construction wage.  In October 2010, we are presenting a free seminar for both Union and Contactor Trustees’ of multi-employer benefit funds, in Fort Wayne, Indiana, to review contemporary issues facing fiduciaries on fringe benefit funds.

In June 2010, Allotta, Farley & Widman hired Attorney Baccus, a graduate of Loyola Law School in Chicago, Illinois, and a member of the Ohio Bar, to work primarily on Indiana labor issues.  Eli will take the Indiana Bar in February 2011, and upon passing the bar, he will join Managing Partner Marilyn Widman as an Attorney licensed to practice in the State of Indiana.  Attorney Bill Webster and Managing Partner Marilyn Widman are licensed to practice law in both the Federal Court systems in Indiana, and Bill also is able to practice in Federal Bankruptcy Court in Indiana.

We recognize that labor representatives in Indiana face unique issues with regard to enforcement of the State’s common construction wage statute, access to public records, and federal and state safety regulations.  We are working to develop legal theories and causes of action through which labor can address these issues.

Allotta, Farley & Widman does not participate through lobbying for or making contributions toward any political activity in the State of Indiana.  Our focus is providing effective and efficient legal representation for labor and friends of labor.
